The Downey Clean Story
In 1897, the first John M. Downey established a small rug cleaning shop in the back of his bakery on the west side of Columbus to help support his wife and eight children. He never imagined that the business he started would survive through five generations.
For more than 120 years, we have to lead our industry in manufacturing and marketing innovative products, while providing superior service in a clean and friendly workplace. We pride ourselves on observing the highest ethical standards in business conduct.
